Have you noticed when life is predictable we grow complacent. Do you find yourself growing stale or lukewarm? In this state of mind... time elapses without notice. Sunsets occur without distintion and we become robots.
It has been said that "Sin keeps you from your Bible and your Bible keeps you from sin".... Oh how true. If the enemy of our soul can't make us bad... he will make us busy. We become too busy to do the main thing... PRAY AND READ OUR BIBLES! WE GET TO BUSY TO GO TO GOD AND TO RESTLESS TO WAIT AND LISTEN FOR HIM TO SPEAK TO US! This is a dangerous place for us as Christians....
Dependency upon God becomes less noticeable to others and our testimony is much less effective, if not useless.
Just as an example... The Lord compares us to Clay....
Take a cloudless day... imagine no rest from the sun, the clay becomes cracked and brittle...with no shelter from the harshness of the day... clouds become a welcome friend. Rain becomes a blessing and a refreshing and renewal. The clay can then leave a footprint.
Lord, I want to have your footprint in my heart. I'm asking you to use the water of your word to soften my heart and mold me.
So it is... with the promise of forgiveness and the direction from our Lord... we can follow him...placing our footsteps into his. ... Sunshine sweet from our Lord lifts us to our destiny of a new day IN HIS PERFECT WILL.
1 CHRONICLES 16:29
"GIVE UNTO THE LORD THE GLORY DUE UNTO HIS NAME: BRING ON OFFERING, AND COME BEFROE HIM; WORSHIP THE LORD IN THE BEAUTY OF HOLINESS."

Holding Pattern
Have you ever been in a time of waiting? You know what I mean, a time of uncertainty... of just not knowing what is going to happen. Recently someone I love very much has been in this time zone..."Waiting".
In every situation it all boils down to mind over matter. If you don't mind, it doesn't matter. In other words... we must learn to enjoy the journey, no matter what road we happen to be on.
I remember my little children used to love to pick flowers. We all know that we don't see "Flocks" in the flower shops, but they happen to be my favorite! Why? Because you find them where no other flowers are. Covering a barren field, they catch the eye... such beauty to me!
Sometimes our field is barren. We must choose to plant the WORD OF GOD into that field. The only truth and certainty we have is that God is in control and we are not. Somehow that is just so comforting to me. Even though it's nice to plan and to have your goals realized, still... detours happen for a reason. I'm thankful for the entire journey. It seems the slower I walk, the more I see and hear.
As my Mother got up to 80 years old, she constantly told me to SLOW DOWN. I know now what she meant. Working with Elderly people, I walk very slow with them. I like it! It calms your heart and your mind can enjoy the journey. I just love the song "Wonderful Peace"....
Far away in the depth of my spirit tonight ... Rolls a melody sweeter than psalm; In celestrial like strains it unceasingly falls Oer my soul like an infinite calm... Peace! Peace! wonderful peace, Coming down from the Father above; Sweep over my spirit forever, I pray, In fathomless billows of love.
